PC Jeronimo Roldan, from Kirklees Road Policing Unit, said: "This is the second time we have been called to an area where a couple of people were being assaulted and this particular group of teenagers were being particularly aggressive.
"Luckily for the victim and witnesses the offender fled without causing more harm.
"There has been some very violent attacks in the area and I want to reassure local residents that we will be patrolling the area to reassure people, even if they are not in a high-crime area.

A day after North Korea launched a missile that reached an altitude of about 479 miles, the White House warned Wednesday that the nation's nuclear ambitions could spark a "massive military response."
"North Korea's action was a reckless and irresponsible provocation," the White House said in a statement. "The United States has spoken openly about the grave threat posed by North Korea's unlawful nuclear and ballistic missile programs, and we have been clear that all options are on the table. "
President Trump's remarks came after he tweeted Tuesday that he would "soon be making a major statement on North Korea."
"North Korea disrespected the wishes of China & its highly respected president when it launched, though unsuccessfully, a missile today. Bad!" Trump wrote.
If there is a "major statement" from Trump on North Korea, it won't come until after Labor Day. There is no firm date set for a meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, whom Trump has called "Rocket Man" on Twitter.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley called for the United Nations to do more about North Korea's missile launch.
"We call on the Security Council to fully enforce its previous resolutions and bring North Korea back to the negotiating table to address its unlawful weapons program," she said.
